How To Have A Great First Day on Campus

How To Have A Great First Day on Campus

Your first day back to campus can have you feeling a mixture of excitement and anxiety. Although the holiday may be over, you look forward to what the new semester brings, new classes, new people, new experiences. One of the ways to ensure that your first day runs smoothly, is to start making the necessary preparations before hand. Having some amount of control, will make your first day less stressful, and you will be more confident to face whatever your first day throws your way. Here are some great tips to help you have a great first day.

Get Organized

Using a planner is a great way to keep track of important events

Organization is one of the key steps to making sure your first day run smoothly. Having all the necessary things in place before you leave the house can greatly reduce stress, and help you to get on your way in a timely manner. Getting organized can include putting aside what you're going to wear to classes the night before, and figuring out where you're going to store your books/notes for the semester. You can also organize your time by getting a planner and marking key events of the semester like orientation, class times and football games. Storage containers make keeping track of notes for classes much easier especially during finals season. For freshmen it is extremely important to get familiar with the campus, know where your classes are going to be, and research a bit on courses you're going to take. The earlier you make this a part of your routine the better it will be.

Get Enough Sleep

Always get at least 8 hours of sleep so you can properly function throughout the day

Sleep and anxiety tend to have what I like to view as an inverse relationship. The less sleep you get, the more anxious you tend to feel, and vice versa. That is why it is very important to get enough sleep the night before. The more rested you are the better able you are to function. Getting enough sleep means you are better able to concentrate and absorb key information like the expected classroom etiquette. The amount of sleep you need will of course vary, but in my experience it is best not to get less than 7 hours, especially if you have classes early.

Get Beautified

To ensure you feel great all day adapt a pre-class routine using Schick Disposable Razors

Aside from choosing what to wear, having a pre-first day beauty routine can help you feel comfortable as the day progresses. Looking great on my first day is one less thing for me to worry about. My pre-first day routine almost always includes hair removal. My go to razor is the Schick Quattro Disposable Razor because it does an excellent job of removing hair. The "Hydro Silk Water Activated Moisturizing Serum" makes the razor glide perfectly on the skin, and makes it easy to get a close shave. My skin is left hair free and feels super soft. Schick is running an amazing contest every selfie taking college girl should enter. You can win a $10,000 scholarship among other prizes by snapping a selfie on Instagram or Twitter.
